At South Central High School, hard work and dedication are driving students to achieve great things in the classroom and beyond. From academic accomplishments to hands-on learning, our students are showcasing their talents and preparing for bright futures.

College & Career Ready

Senior Payton Tyree is a shining example of how South Central's programs equip students for success. Through Mr. Ledford’s Construction Pathway, Payton gained valuable skills that he’s now applying in his Work-Based Learning Capstone Internship at Adam Bickel's Twin Interiors. Real-world experiences like this demonstrate the power of blending education with practical application, preparing students for life beyond graduation.

Hands-On Learning in the Classroom

Learning at South Central is anything but ordinary. Recently, Mr. Voyles' 7th-grade language arts students engaged in a breakout room activity inspired by their reading of The Outsiders. By solving riddles tied to character traits and themes, students developed critical thinking and teamwork skills. Meanwhile, in Mr. Deatrick’s class, students dove into the mechanics of small engines, taking them apart and putting them back together—a hands-on experience that’s as educational as it is exciting.

Whether they’re mastering a novel’s themes, learning life skills, or earning recognition for their achievements, South Central students are building futures filled with promise.

We’re proud to celebrate their hard work and look forward to even more achievements this school year!
