students in group work

Kicking off the Spring Semester was different than anticipated, but we want to thank everyone for their patience and dedication in making eLearning days successful. On Tuesday, January 7, 2025, the South Harrison Community School Corporation Board of Trustees held its January meeting. Here is a recap of what was discussed.

Board Reorganization

The January meeting traditionally includes several required reports and a reorganization of the Board. The following officers were appointed for the 2024 term:

  • Mary Mathes, President

  • Karen Lopp, Vice-President

  • Barbara Smith, Secretary

Congratulations to the newly appointed officers, and thank you for your commitment to serving our schools and community!

Central Office Reorganization

🏤 Changes are underway at the central office to enhance efficiency and balance workloads. This transition began with the recent retirement of Jill Timberlake, and we anticipate celebrating the upcoming retirement of Penny Smith. Congratulations, Penny, on this milestone!

As these transitions take place, job descriptions are being revised to ensure the central office continues to operate effectively, with a focus on serving the needs of students, staff, and families across the district. To review positions and apply, visit our career page.

Due to the weather, student presentations, curriculum updates and other reports were postponed to the February meeting.

We appreciate your support and partnership as we continue to work toward excellence in education. Stay warm, and thank you for making South Harrison Community School Corporation a wonderful place to learn and grow.
