Our 4th grade classes had a visit from the 500Festival Education Program this morning! Students learned about the history & traditions of the Indy 500, careers and economics of IndyCar racing, driver safety, race day flags and the science behind IndyCars. Students also signed an Indianapolis Motor Speedway flag that will be displayed at CIS. What a great opportunity for our students! They are ready for race day!

With the uncertainty of the incoming weather, I want to make sure everyone is aware of our inclement weather plan.
-We are already scheduled to be off on Monday, January 15th.
-If school is canceled on Tuesday, we would make it up in-person on February 19. There will be no eLearning.
-If school is canceled Tuesday and Wednesday (or longer), those additional days would be eLearning days.
Your child's teacher will send out a schedule for eLearning days specifying when your child will be expected to be online for live instruction. All students know how to join their live instruction and how to access their online assignments.
Please make sure you are connected to the South Harrison App to ensure you receive notifications of school closings or delays.

This week we wrapped up the first semester! Crazy to think we're half way done with the school year, but we're so thankful for everyone who made it a great one so far. Have a happy & safe winter break!! ⛄
We made it! It’s winter break! Students and staff have worked so hard this first semester and deserve these next few weeks to rest and relax. We had a jammed packed week of activities and spirit days. We ended the week with a pajama day. We hope everyone has a restful break and enjoys their time with friends and family. We will see students back on January 2nd to finish this year off strong!
Our CIS Choir and Beginning Band students performed recently in their holiday concerts. Great job to our young musicians and their directors Mrs. Bauserman and Mr. Tibbs.

Nick Geswein from Harrison REMC visited to explain how solar energy is transformed into electrical energy. Dr. Seth Ernstberger from Ernstberger Orthodontics also came to speak about dental health and hygiene. Thank you for coming to spend time with our students!
