On Wednesday, September 27 the HWES 6th grade class had their culminating activity for their egg drop learning activity. Students were tasked with designing, prototyping, and testing a device to protect an egg from drops of 3', 6', 9', and then a torture test drop of approximately 50'!
Students used the design process to create a protective device, but were able to use their creativity to make the device unique. Most of our students were able to create a device to survive the lower level drops, and approximately 1/3 of the class created devices to withstand a drop from the top of the HWES Gymnasium!
Students wrapped up the project with a detailed writing packet describing the learning process and the outcome they experienced!
Great job 6th grade scientist/inventors!
