Over the course of an exciting 3-week novel study, our 5th graders dove into Ronald Dahl’a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! They explored character traits, made inferences, and sharpened their language arts skills—plus, they got to bring the story to life with some fun STEM projects!
What did we do?
- Explored mixtures and changes of states by whipping up some delicious fudge.
- Designed & built whimsical machines that Willy Wonka would be proud of!
- Practiced dividing fractions using top-secret chocolate recipes from the factory!
Literature combined with science, math, and engineering created the ultimate recipe for a fun and engaging learning!
