Every year, U.S. Senators and Representatives can recommend an elite group of individuals for admission to the United States service academies. On Thursday, April 17, Senator Todd Young is inviting all high school students considering joining the armed services to his virtual session to learn more about the Academy Nomination process.
The competition for available appointments is strong; therefore, the academies recommend students interested in applying for an appointment should contact the Academy of their choice in the spring of their junior year and apply for a congressional nomination during their senior year.
Nominees are chosen based on personal merit, character, leadership, academic excellence, physical aptitude, and extracurricular activities. Click here for a full list of eligibility requirements and for more details about the application process.
