In the heart of February, South Harrison's Corydon Central High School and South Central Jr./Sr. High School embraced the spirit of agriculture and community as they celebrated National FFA (Future Farmers of America) Week. FFA is not just an organization; it's a movement that fosters leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.
A Glimpse into FFA Week Celebrations
At Corydon and South Central, each FFA chapter organized their annual Pancake Breakfast. The breakfast is a tradition for each school, charging $0.50 for a full breakfast spread to represent the amount a farmer earns out of the cost of a meal. While serving pancakes students were able to to share the milestones their chapter hit this year. Things members of the Corydon chapter shared was doubling their membership, increasing involvement in our community and participating more in competitions. South Central FFA members were able to share about growing their club to almost 50 students, participating more in livestock shows and student competitions and developing more relationships within the agriculture industry for potential career opportunities. The Corydon chapter served around 500 breakfast meals and South Central's chapter served around 200 breakfast meals.
