Choosing to serve in the military is a major decision that offers many career opportunities. Students who are highly motivated, well-rounded, successful and looking for a way to serve their country are invited to attend the 9th District’s U.S. Service Academy Day on Saturday, September 10th at 10:00 a.m.
This event is for any student and parents interested in learning more about attending the U.S. Service Academies — the United States Military Academy at West Point, the United States Naval Academy, the United States Air Force Academy, the United States Coast Guard Academy and the United States Merchant Marine Academy — all of which offer a free college education to those interested in serving our country.
Families will be provided information regarding the service academies’ admissions processes, congressional nominations, and you will have the opportunity to meet with service academy representatives.
For students who have already decided they would like to attend a service academy, the application for a congressional nomination is available on the 9th Congressional District’s website. Attending Academy Day is not a requirement for a nomination.
If you have any questions or would like to request additional information, please call your Jeffersonville Congressional office at 812-288-3999 or email my Service Academy Coordinator at ServiceAcademyCoordinatorIN09@mail.house.gov.
