Movie Day at CIS will be on Dec. 21. The 4th grade is watching The Grinch, 5th grade Home Alone, and 6th grade Elf. If you prefer your child not to watch this movie please contact your child’s teacher.
The junior high wrestling team will still take new wrestlers for the next week or so. Come be a part of a winning tradition! We are also looking for a couple of managers! Practice is Wednesday afterschool. Black/Gold Meet Thursday @6PM.
The choir will be practicing at the auditorium on Tuesday after school. Parents should pick up students at 4:00 pm at the auditorium entrance - door 13. Their choir concert is Thursday evening at 7:00 pm at the CCHS auditorium.

The Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) announced the launch of Indiana Learns, a statewide grant program that will provide qualifying families with $500 to spend on math and English/language arts high-dosage tutoring and approved out-of-school academic programs for their students. The initiative’s goal is to increase access to effective, out-of-school academic support to help students recover from learning disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Student qualifications To qualify for an Indiana Learns tutoring grant, students must meet all of the following criteria:
-Legally reside in Indiana,
-Be enrolled at a traditional public, charter, or accredited non-public school,
-Qualify for Federal Free or Reduced Lunch, and
-Have scored Below Proficiency in both math and English/language arts on ILEARN as a third or fourth grader in 2022.
-Note: Approaching proficiency will not qualify.
Once a family has registered at IndianaLearns.org, they can manage their account and find participating learning partners in an online platform that will be available by Saturday, October 1. The platform will also include helpdesk resources.
Funds can be used on approved virtual and in-person tutoring opportunities listed on the online platform. Examples of qualifying expenses include private tutoring, small group tutoring, or academic-focused camps held during school breaks.
The 5th-grade boys beat South Central last night, and the 6th-grade fought hard, but came up short. Both teams are back in action tomorrow at the Salem Tourney. Good luck boys!
Reminder for 5th-grade parents. Students need 1 can of icing for their Gingerbread Houses. Candy donations along with graham crackers for the project are also needed.

CIS Papa John's Dough Night is Tuesday, December 6th. Take a night off from cooking and help support our PTO.
The choir will be practicing tomorrow after school at the auditorium at the Junior High. Students will be meeting at 2:40 to leave for practice. Parents should pick students up at the auditorium at Door #13 at 4:00 pm.
We have had two other families devastated by house fires. For a monetary donation, students and staff can wear pajamas tomorrow, December 1st. Thank you for supporting these families.
The boys’ basketball team will have their first home game on Thursday. They will play North Harrison. CIS students that wear black and gold will get in for free! Adults cost $3, 5 and over $1. The start time is 6:00.
Band students are selling Krispy Kreme gift certificates for $10. Certificates are for a dozen original glazed doughnuts and can be used at any store location. Orders are due Friday, Dec. 9.
