While it's difficult to get students excited for standardized testing, the CES 2nd and 3rd grade brought the energy this past Friday! Students were treated to an awesome skit, with rappers DJ Enlow and MC Schulz! After firing the students up, they participated in minute to win it games, with some of their teachers as competitors! The CES Gym was full of energy and we hope that energy carries through with the testing that occurs the week of 3-2/3-14 for our 2nd and 3rd grade students! Time to show the state what we know!

2nd and 3rd grade CES students culminated their acts of service with donations to two organizations today: Uplift Them - serving the unfortunate and homeless in the New Albany area and the Kentuckiana Cat Rescue shelter in Corydon. CES students donated $275 each to the homeless and less fortunate organization called Uplift Them and Kentuckiana Cat Rescue shelter in Corydon on Feb. 25th! This money was raised from the ornaments made in December! Students and their teachers worked hard to produce handmade ornaments all while learning about economics and the joy of giving. The students voted to help the homeless and cats. Future donations will continue to be accepted by Ms. Wheatley: Here is what they are in need of: Uplift Them: Hot Hands and long white socks - for men or women Cat Shelter: paper towels, used towels (any size), new plastic cat toys, or new cat treats. Thank you CES students and teachers for your great work and generous hearts!

Ms. Donoho's 3rd grade students had a blast learning about fractions! Students constructed pizzas from various orders that their teacher had placed. Students were challenged with finding the correct fractional amount of ingredients to complete the perfect pizza, even if some of them had pineapple as a topping! Thank you to the Corydon Dominos for the donation of the pizza boxes to add a final touch to our students' creations!
